Ministries

The visitation team known as LRE (The Lifestyle Relational Evangelism Team) meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. to coordinate visits. Their mission is to welcome newcomers with a brief home-visit, to visit or call shut-ins, and to send weekly devotionals and church bulletins. It’s a great way to meet members of the congregation. 

Collection Drives

The Outreach Team provides financial support to both local and global ministries and coordinates collection drives for food, health/flood kits, school supplies, Christmas gifts, and Samaritan's Purse shoeboxes.  

Windsor teams prepare and serve meals at the Washington Street UMC Soup Cellar the first Monday of each month. Food preparation begins at 10 a.m. and the shift is over at 12:30 p.m.

Celebrating 50 years of service in 2027, youth and adults spend a week in the summer repairing the homes of disabled and elderly families in approximately 29 camps located in South Carolina. Churches and organizations provide support through funds, meals and lodging for the volunteers. Link: salkehatchie.org 

A 6:30 p.m. dinner meeting is held on the first Monday of each month at Lizard's Thicket Restaurant on Two Notch Rd. @ I-20. The United Methodist Men prepare meals during Advent for the congregation and friends and for the Fall into Faith event in October and Easter morning breakfast. They raise money through their annual Boston Butt fundraiser. The men do simple home repairs for special needs and other local missions.

Women gather on the second Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in Harbor Hall for United Women in Faith meetings. A potluck lunch is provided by the ladies. Guest speakers from local ministries broaden the knowledge of the needs in the community. They support women and children through local, national, and global ministries with our monetary gifts and talents. 

Participants are encouraged to discover and employ spiritual gifts as God intended through District Lay Servant academies held once a year and to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices, and being part of a group that holds members accountable in their discipleship.
